prementum less than 3 times as long as wide; palpus present or absent; outer vertical setae not differentiated; lower facial margin not visible in lateral view; proepisternum usually with 1-3 setulae; subscutellum convex in lateral view; posterior pair of scutellar bristles crossed; hind tibia with two dorsal preapical setae; usually at least anterior margin of wing membrane darkened; petiole of wing cell r4+5 1.5-5.0 times as long as postangular section of M; abdominal tergites 3 and 4 usually without median marginal setae; abdominal sternites exposed; abdomen of female with piercer (sternite 8) and usually with patches of short spinules ventrally (sternite 5)
