ocellar setae absent; labella with long posterior extensions; lateral scutellar setae absent or at most half as long as subapical setae; scutum before suture usually with one pair of broad dark longitudinal stripes, each about as wide as the pale median stripe; first postsutural supra-alar setae absent; pruinescence of scutellum specular with respect to medial line; preapical posteroventral seta on hind tibia about as long as preapical anteroventral seta; hind tibia with 2 dorsal preapical setae; tegula usually yellow or red; bend of M with a long extension beyond bend, distinctly longer than crossvein R-M; wing cell r4+5 closed or with a petiole at most as long as 1/10 postangular section of M; abdomen compressed laterally; abdomen usually more or less red laterally, rarely entirely black
