arista plumose; antenna at most as long as height of gena; parafacial usually bare (sometimes pubescent in D. grisescens); fronto orbital plate bare outside frontal row; proepisternum with setulae (rarely bare in D. grisescens); fore tarsus longer than height of head; anterodorsal setae on hind tibia irregular in length and thickness (never forming a comb-like row); Cs2 ventrally bare; abdominal sternites not exposed; abdominal tergites 3 and 4 usually without median discal setae
