Distribution: central and southern Europe, Transcaucasia, Central Asia, southern Siberia
Remarks: arista plumose; antenna shorter than height of gena; parafacial with fine black setulae over most of its length; vibrissa arising high above level of lower facial margin; subfacial setae crossed, vibrissa-like; height of gena half of vertical diameter of eye or more; inner anterior surface of fore coxa entirely or predominantly covered with appressed setulae; first postsutural supra-alar setae, sometimes hair-like; legs predominantly black; scutum with four pairs of postsutural dorsocentral setae, two or three pairs of presutural acrostichal setae; 2 katepisternal setae; bend of M with a long extension beyond bend, at least two times as long as crossvein R-M; abdominal syntergite 1+2 without median marginal setae, its middorsal depression extending back to hind margin of that segment; abdominal tergites 3 and 4 without median discal setae; postpronotum with 4 setae; abdominal tergites partially fused dorsally
