Remarks: ocelli absent (at least posterior ones); parafacial bare; mouthparts exceptionally reduced, prementum short, as long as or scarcely longer than diameter of fore tibia; prosternum (including the articulating membrane) strongly swollen; scutum with 1 or 2 presutural acrostichal setae; crossvein R-M without a dark spot; wing cell r4+5 narrowly open or closed just at wing margin, rarely with a short petiole at most 1/10 as long as postangular section of M; abdominal sternites exposed; body pale yellow or brownish in ground colour
